On the 22nd February
2008 radio 4 aired a program called
'Broadcasting House' which is a news and
conversation program about the big
stories of the day, hosted by Paddy
O'Connell. During the program there was
a story about street traders and how the
economy has affected trade. During the
story Paddy speaks about learning the
lessons of the past or being doomed to
repeat the errors. After this there is a
22 second clip of a speech by Viscount
Philip Snowdon from September 1931, The
then Chancellor of the Exchequer.

AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR THE COMMUNITY -

| At present it states
that the event will conclude at 6:45
p.m. whereas there will be full public
consultation on this topic from 7:00
p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in the same hall
with representatives from the parish
council, district council, and the
proposers of the development. |

AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR THE COMMUNITY |
There will be an
opportunity for residents and the
community of Cowling to view and comment
on the proposals for an affordable
housing development consisting of 19 new
homes on land adjacent to the former
Acre Mills Cowling site which is to be
developed for Manningham Housing
Association Limited (MHA).
The new homes will enable local people
on low incomes to benefit from
affordable high quality family housing.
The designs & standards of the homes
will fit into the beauty of rural
Cowling and MHA also hope to assist the
Parish Council to complete its new
village hall for the benefit of
Cowling’s residents.
This open event will be presented by
Firebird Homes Limited on behalf of
Manningham Housing Association and its
partners on 16th February 2009 between
4.00pm and 6. 45 pm at Cowling Village
Hall, Royd Street, Cowling BD23 OBL. |
