“I loved this excellent, well-researched genealogical/local history book that uses a wealth of primary sources. The book being divided into 10 chapters with each dedicated to a particular aspect of South Craven and members of its principal family, the Tillotsons and covering a period of 500yrs together with several maps/plans included that complement the text help make the read an interesting one. The final chapters showing the family trees of these particularTillotsons, transcriptions of their Wills, household inventories and extracts from Deeds and Letters are particularly useful to the family history researcher. I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the areas of Cononley, Cowling and Skipton and/or the Tillotson family. Thanks too to David Gulliver for conducting the research and bringing this information to our attention.”

“Fantastic stuff - also another book Cononley Manorial Courts 2007 which includes Cowling and other villages in our area, and another two super books "The History of Cononley" by Trevor Hodgson and David Gulliver, and also the lovely book of old Cononley photos which my Mum -born in Cononley- had with her in the nursing home until the end!
I will always treasure it.”
