“Will the details be going on the cowling website about it and do you need a ticket or can you pay on the door?”

“The Ceilidh is on 25th September at 7.30pm, tickets are £5 per adult, £2 per child, there is also a pig race on. Tickets can be bought from Bains shop, the B&B on Woodland St and any comittee member. Hopefully details will go on the website tomorrow. Hope to see you all there!”

“Thanks for asking about the Ceilidh, I thought I'd share a few more details out there for what should be a really good Friday night out at the Village Hall on Park Road from 7:30pm.
The Rob Thorne Band is providing the main entertainment again this year. We're looking forward to an energetic Ceilidh. As Sam says admission tickets are available through the general store and VH committee members. There may be some available on the door, I'll try to post on here on Friday to let you know but it'd be great if you could buy in advance.
There will be a fully licensed bar, selling local real ale, lager, and wine (don't worry the wine's not local!). Soft drinks and crisps etc will also be available. The bar will be selling drinks at very reasonable prices.
This year, to add to the fun, we're also running Pig Racing throughout the evening, (though not at the same time as the band are playing). For those of you who didn't see the pigs racing on Gala Day, the pigs are battery powered and race on a table top track. They're really cute and good fun.
6 pigs will run in each of 6 heats and the winning pig from each race goes through to the final. The 'owner' of the pigs that finish 1st 2nd and 3rd in the grand final will win a cash prize (£50, £20 & £10 respectively). Pigs are for sale now, for £5 tickets available from the same people as the admission tickets.
There's no obligation to buy a pig, you can join in the Pig Racing fun in a number of other ways:
1. Arrive early (from 7:30) and your admission ticket will gain you vet or trainer rights to a pig. If your pig wins, you'll win a non-cash prize
2. We'll be running a tote on the night, and you'll be able to place a bet on each race from just 50p (I apologise for the error on the tickets that states bets from 20p). The bet will be on the winner of each heat, so payouts will be immediate. The odds on each pig will follow betting patterns, just like they do at the races.
3. If you place a bet and you lose, you can enter your betting slip into a prize draw for another non-cash prize.
On the night there'll be programs / race cards available and people on hand to help explain all.
All profits will go towards the village hall fund.
Cowling Village Hall is a registered charity, licensed under the 2005 Gambling Act with Craven District Council
VHMC members for tickets include: Richard and Mary Price, Susan Black, Sam Gartland
Tickets also available from: Bain’s' General Store, Richard Benson, Kevin Brigg, David Rowe
I'm happy to be contacted directly for admission tickets or to sell you a pig. I can be reached on 631685 or at 1davidrowe@gmail.com

“Some tickets for tonights Ceilidh are still available.
There may well be a few available on the door this evening too.
I saw the pigs racing for the first time last night and that should be lots of fun too, and not half as complicated as I might have made it sound above!
It promises to be a really enjoyable night out, so come and join us if you can.”
