“Cowling entertained Pendle Forest at home on Sunday 13th Septemeber and came away with an 8-0 victory. The opening 10 mins of the game were very even ,but then Cowling began to get on top applying pressure on the Pendle defence. Two quick goals around the 15 min mark put Cowling on top. Half time was reached with them leading 5-0 and producing some very good football on the way. A few changes at half time seemed to slow Cowling down, as once again play became even, but as the subs settled in, Cowling began to get on top again and added 3 more goals before the end. A very competent performance by Cowling against a Pendle side who never gave up. Scorers were George Sellers and Jacob Hough with 2 each, Gino Biancardo, Josh Wood, Jack Fletcher and Ellis Denton all with one each. Man of the match was new boy Jack Fletcher who gave a tigerish display in midfield.”
