“Cowling started their season with a hard fought 6-5 victory against a very good Barnoldswick Barons side. Cowling got off to a great start and were 2 up inside 10 mins, Barnoldswick soon pulled a goal back, but then Cowling played some delightful football upto half time and during that peroid were the better side. They added another goal to go in 3-1 up. Shortly after half time, Cowling scored a fourth goal and it looked as though the game was going their way. But then Barnoldswick , playing some great football began to turn the screw, pegging Cowling back and applying lots of pressure. They began to eat into Cowlings lead and with 10 mins to go had actually taken the lead, which was no more than Barnoldswick deserved.. Cowling though summoned up one last effort and with 5 mins to go equalised with a tremendous 30 yard free kick. Then to the delight of the Cowling team and fans the come back was complete when with 2 mins to go, the winner was scored. Giving Cowling a 6-5 victory. A draw would definately have been the fairer result as neither team deserved to lose. All in all a fantastic advert for U14's football, with both teams giving their of their best, very well reffed and the parents encouraging the players positively. Scorers for Cowling were Jack Fletcher and Oliver Williams with two each and Ellis Denton and Jacob Hough with one each. Man of the match with a superb display in defence was Oliver Simeone.”

“Well done for a great victory what a good way to start the new season.
Lets hope you go from strength to strength, some of the credit must go to the manager who seems to be doing a great job.
Best of luck to you all for the rest of the season.
