“My daughter was diagnosed as having red cheek or slapped face as its better known, its a nasty virus that is contagious, the contagious period is before the rash appearsor when the rash is present with a fever, there have been 2 cases at cowling school so far.........this is for your information.
It normally presents as bright red cheek or cheeks and a rash to the arms and legs, it sometimes comes with a fever.
All you need to do is to treat the symptoms”

“If they have a fever then give them calpol, for an angry rash get them to lie in a cool bath which will help enourmously, dress them in loose cotton whilst the rash angry, you can use calomine lotion if it itches but calomine dries and causes itching so i prefer to give piriton or some other antihistamine which will ease the itch. hope this helps”
