I would like to ask a huge favour from anyone who knew my stepdad David Ware Hoyle. I would like to compile a photograph album for my daughters of Davids life before he met my mum Vera and during the time he was married to mum. I would like copies of photos of David/David and Vera with dates if possible. All photos can be emailed to me porter4998@bigpond.com

Thank you very much
Margaret Porter

I was really disappointed to find out today that we have lost yet another shop from the village. Cowling Pharmacy is no more, apparently not busy enough!! Personally I used it all the time & had all my prescriptions sent up here. Such a shame.

Playing their first game since 21st November, Cowling travelled to Pendle Foreat and scrapped a 3-2 victory. The game was spoilt by a very stiff breeze. Cowling in the first half played some decent football but only in patches, despite that, they managed to build up a two goal lead , but with the last kick of the half Pendle pulled a goal back. Half-time 2-1 to Cowling. Within two minutes of the start of the second half Pendle had equalised, Cowling were rocking slightly and for ten mins had to dig deep to stay level. With fifteen mins left Cowling scored what turned out to be the winner with a wonderful individual goal. Cowling managed to hang on for the win despite a couple of scares. While playing nowhere near their best, Cowling kept going and battled their way to a hard earned victory. Scorers were Jack Fletcher with two clinical finishes and Liam Daffern with a wonderful individual goal. Man of the Match was Liam Daffern.
