S.O.C.S. is about parents,
grandparent, aunts, uncles, ex
pupils and friends of the school
trying to help the teaching
staff with what they undertake
for our children. We meet on a
regular basis and welcome
support from the whole
community.
Last year, We provided some
really enjoyable events for the
whole school and raised just
over £1,000. We assisted the
staff in hosting the school’s
first Open Day, inviting the
wider community in, to
experience the great things that
our children are achieving. We
also helped host a Teddy Bears
Picnic, for the under 5’s of the
village to come and see what
school might be like!
The money we raise helps pay for
things like baking ingredients,
after school club equipment and
school trips. It contributes to
the “extras” and “nice to haves”
that help make Cowling School
the wonderful place it is. In
particular, last year it meant
that, in additional to the usual
school trips, the whole school
could go to the Harrogate Arts
Festival and take part in a
range of cultural/art workshops.
