Pinnacle Productions is
Cowling’s very own amateur
dramatic group, formed back in
1998. We stage two performances
per year now, normally one in
last spring/early summer and one
in late autumn/early winter.
Last year, as well as putting on
a play, we performed an
ambitious pantomime for the very
first time, and it went down a
storm with 3 out of 3 full house
performances.
At the moment we perform at St
Andrew’s Hall in the village,
but with the building of a new
Village Hall we hope to make
that our main performance venue.
We have members from their teens
to their seventies from all
walks of life. Some act, some
direct, some help out backstage,
with costumes, scenery, front of
house, lighting, sound and more.
Every month we meet at a
member’s home for a play reading
evening – comedy, tragedy,
suspense, horror…. and that’s
before the reading even starts!
Everyone is welcome to come
along to these evenings, but you
don’t have to read if you don’t
want to. Just come along and
listen if you prefer. Light
refreshments and drinks make the
evening somewhat of an
anticipated monthly social
event. The play readings are
advertised in the Craven Herald
(village section), the village
newsletter and on Cowlingweb. So
if you want to meet new people,
pursue an interest or just widen
your horizons, you will be made
most welcome.
Pinnacle Productions also stage
fund-raising and social events
throughout the year. With these,
any member is always welcome to
either organise one such event
or just to come along.
In 2007 we even went back to
school! Well, OK, not quite
school, but we took part in
theatre workshops run by a local
professional actor and director.
We all enjoyed it immensely and
hope to do some more soon.
So… if all that whets your
appetite for joining our band of
merry thespians, costumiers,
props makers, lighting and sound
techies or even producers and
directors, you will be made most
welcome.
