On the 22nd February
2008 radio 4 aired a program called
'Broadcasting House' which is a news and
conversation program about the big
stories of the day, hosted by Paddy
O'Connell. During the program there was
a story about street traders and how the
economy has affected trade. During the
story Paddy speaks about learning the
lessons of the past or being doomed to
repeat the errors. After this there is a
22 second clip of a speech by Viscount
Philip Snowdon from September 1931, The
then Chancellor of the Exchequer.
